Google Tablet : Google Pamerkan Calon Penantang iPad

Jakarta - Kemunculan Apple iPad memicu para pesaing mengembangkan teknologi tandingan. Tak terkecuali Google yang diam-diam ternyata membesut software komputer tablet untuk menghantam iPad.

Bahkan, gambar perkiraan tablet Google telah muncul beberapa hari sebelum iPad dirilis pada 27 Januari lalu. Video tentang konsep tablet dengan sistem operasi berbasis Chrome OS ini juga telah mampir di YouTube.

Sebelumnya, Google telah mengumumkan sistem operasi Chrome OS bakal dirilis di tahun 2010 sebagai sistem operasi untuk netbook. Namun sekarang, mereka tampaknya ingin memperluas implementasinya ke perangkat lain termasuk tablet, desktop bahkan televisi.

"Google Chrome OS masih dalam tahap pengembangan dan kami bereksperimen secara konstan dengan user interface bervariasi untuk menentukan desain paling bersahabat," tukas Google seperti detikINET kutip dari InformationWeek, Rabu (3/2/2010).

Google memamerkan konsep tablet tersebut di website untuk para developer Chrome OS. Sepertinya, tablet Google nantinya akan berkemampuan multitasking, fitur yang tidak ada di iPad. Dari rumor yang beredar, Google disebut akan menggandeng HTC untuk membuat tablet itu.

Jika tablet Google benar-benar dirilis, berarti persaingan Google dengan Apple kian sengit saja. Saat ini, mereka telah bertarung di bisnis ponsel di mana Google mengandalkan Android untuk menghantam iPhone. ( fyk / faw )

Tablet Android Pesaing iPad Hanya Rp2 Juta

Archos 7 Home Tablet ( IST ) INILAH.COM, Jakarta – Apple akan mendapat saingan baru di pasar tablet PC selain Dell dan Samsung. Tablet versi Android dipasarkan dengan harga sangat murah Rp 2 juta. Andy Rubin Shows Off Android 3.0 On Prototype Motorola Tablet

Devin Coldewey 8 hours ago Andy Rubin is, as I type this, in the middle of a demo of Android 3.0 (AKA Honeycomb) at Dive Into Mobile. The rest of his talk I’ve got written up elsewhere, but this was too cool to pass up. The software is running on a prototype MOTOPAD that looks really slick, though it was only out for a moment and there are but few pictures at the moment. I’ll be updating this post as more information breaks. First thing he showed off was a new lock screen and then what appeared to be a brand new “desktop” with widgets and buttons in the corners.
