Android Market Tembus 50.000 Aplikasi


MOUNTAIN VIEW, KOMPAS.com - Hanya dalam waktu 18 bulan, bursa aplikasi Android Market berhasil menembus 50.000 aplikasi. Jumlahnya memang masih jauh dari aplikasi di Apple App Store, namun pertumbuhannya sangat tinggi dari hari ke hari membuatnya bisa bersaing ketat.

Google yang membangun inisiatif dengan platform berbasis open sourcs tersebut menyatakan pada Desember 2009 lalu baru ada 16.000 aplikasi. Pertengahan Maret 2010, jumlah aplikasi berlipat hampir dua kali menjadi 30.000 aplikasi.

Terakhir, situs AndroLib melansir statistik baru menunjukkan aplikasi di Android market sudah mencapai 50.000 buah. Masing-masing dengan perbandingan 59 persen aplikasi gratis dan 41 persen aplikasi berbayar.

Sebagai perbandingan, aplikasi di Apple App Store mencapai angka yang sama 50.000 aplikasi dalam waktu 12 bulan sejak diluncurkan. Saat ini sudah lebih dari 190.000 aplikasi di bursa milik Apple tersebut.

Motorola Devour specs: 3.1-inch screen, Android 1.6, MotorBLUR

Here we go with the phone formerly known as the Calgary, which we're expecting on Verizon anytime now. (Yes, that's a Droid in the picture above. We're told that's just a placeholder.) The biggies: Android 1.6 ( Donut ) with MotoBLUR . A 3.1-inch touchscreen (320x480). 3MP camera. Verizon is requiring a data plan, and the $350 early termination fee is in effect. It comes with an 8GB microSD card. Still no word on price or when it will go on sale, but we're told it could be anytime now.
